AVG not reponding to Action Center?

Why won't Action Center respond to AVG 2013? It says Check virus protection and check spyware protection. For the virus one. Pressing &quotTurn on AVG 2013&quot will just update AVG and do nothing. The spyware one has a button that you can turn on AVG, click that,
nothing happens. Please help me!
