SkyDrive Pro - SharePoint and Terminated Users

What happens to files that are snyc'd to a user's computer and they get terminated?, will the file eventually become useless(not being able to open) after not syncing for a while? or will it just be like any other file a user may have copied
to their machine to work on...its just there and nothing can be done about it.
