Im new to computers

my hard drive disc is 1.83 available out of 581 on a toshiba C855-S5214 . I have tried disc clean up and disc defrag. they dont do a thing. what do i need to do to clear disc space? I have uninstalled everything that i downloaded, witch was not much. please
help
