cd wont read or burn music

Please help ive tried everything I can find to try and fix this problem im using windows vista when I try and burn using itunes it says its missing files it says the registry settings used by itunes drivers are missing for importing and burning cds and
dvds are missing. It used to work great I hve not made any changes ive even tried system restore no luck. I would really like to get this problem fixed if I have too reinstall windows I will
