Hello,
I'm trying to connect new windows 10 pro workstations to a new windows server 2016 essentials server. I installed server without any issues.
I'm using comcast's cisco router to assign dns and ip addresses. Then going through a netgear switch.
I can see the server from the desktops in the file explorer under network. Select it and it prompts me with a login screen. I can log in using any of the users I've created in the dashboard and view folders.
When I run the connector wizard using Servername.com I am prompted to download the software. It appears to scan the network, finds the server, agree to the license, then I'm prompted with a username/password.
It hangs for a few minutes, then displays "The server is not available. Try connecting this computer again."
I had a personal laptop and tried it and it ran correctly. It is running windows 10 home, plus it was connected via the wifi and not connected via Ethernet like the desktops.
The desktops also came pre-setup with windows 10 pro with an administrator user.
I have another laptop I'll bring in and see if it'll work while connected to Ethernet.
Is there something I'm missing on these desktop machines or maybe on the network or server?
Thank you very much.
