Subject says it. I can still see the video image, but access to the camera's microphone has completely disappeared. When I try starting any application, for example "Voice Recorder", they say that there is no microphone - at all.
I still used the microphone (with Skype) just up until I installed the April feature patch.
The microphone still shows up in the control panel => Manage Audio Devices dialog. Just as the person in the 2nd linked issue below says, when I select "Listen to this device", which sends microphone input to the speakers, I can hear myself. But any applications that want to access a microphone claim the system does not have one!

Before Microsoft people ask: It WORKED EXACTLY UNTIL I INSTALLED THE PATCH! While I understand that you often have people who forget to plug the device into a power outlet or worse (we all know those funny "worst support call" stories), that's not what happened to me. It was the April patch.
See the 2nd link below, I left a comment there. I tried the troubleshooter (for recording) and it has nothing to say.
