So I got my Surface Pro a month ago. It worked fine, probably until the April 1803 update.
Now, when booting, after logging in, the Surface holds at a black screen for as much as 5 minutes. The mouse can move and ctrl-alt-del works, but otherwise it does not respond. Once it loads Windows, it works beautifully.
I've tried safe mode and startup repair. I'm afraid that I'll have to do a system reset, but I'd prefer to avoid that, and know what happened for future problems
