Windows 10 sound volume problems - unequal loudness

I've been having issues with Windows 10 sound - The problem is the sounds vary drastically between apps.

For example, I'm using Spotify/Google Music to listen to music and it's super loud. Usually I have the volume to 10-20 when using those two. Same for speakers. However, if listening to a video on YT or playing videos locally (through VLC,MPC-HC or default player) I have to have volume on 100 and it still uncomfortably silent.

I checked the volume mixer and all of the apps are set to equal volume level. I have an ASUS ROG Strix laptop and it comes with some custom ASUS sound management called Sonic but I tried all options there are and it doesn't do any difference. Any help with this?
