My computer is a 9+ HP Pavilion Elite computer Core2 Dual as described in previous discussions. Just to let people know that if you close all programs, e.g. Excel, Quicken, etc. prior to starting Sleep mode, the computer/monitor wake normally. At least that is the case on my setup. I know this sounds counter intuitive and inefficient but restarting a program is a lot easier than a hard reboot. So the problem appears to be a technical issue in how Windows 10 interfaces with applications while in or coming Sleep mode. I am continuing to experiment with different settings to see if I can further isolate the problem.
