DNS servers refuse query

Hello,

I have 2 domain controllers with DNS servers installed on them.

For obvious reasons I prefer to disable Recursion on both, but then both refuse DNS queries. Is this normal? I think they should use Root Hints to resolve queries when Recursion is disabled, but they don't.

Also I noticed that the IP address of all Root Hints are IPv6. My servers and network have IPv4 only.


Please advise.
