I received a relative's computer that was severely outdated. I had to update all web browsers as well as the operating system. At first, the computer would go to sleep fine. Over the course of a few days, many updates were performed, and they finally ended and I had Windows 10. All the sudden, my computer will not properly go to sleep. When I select the sleep option from the power menu, the screen will go black but instead of my power button light flickering, it will stay on like the computer is still running. Before the final update was done, this would only happen if I would close the screen without selecting the sleep option. I've selected the sleep option since then, but now that doesn't even work. The computer will not sleep and I must restart the computer by turning it off by holding in the power button every time I want to use the computer again, and it's just becoming annoying. I have looked up possible solutions, but I have tried everything they suggested (checking the power settings, checking the drivers) and the computer is NOT on hibernate in settings, it is supposed to sleep. Any suggestions to make my computer sleep properly so I could just return to where I left off instead of always shutting the computer off to get the screen to come back on?
