Not receving email to verify external email address

I am trying to add my 3 kids as family accounts to our PCs. All 3 accounts are tied to external email addresses. Each child receives the "invite". After clicking the button to join the family group they are required to validate their email address. This email is not arriving. I know the email address are correct since the initial invite arrived successfully. I checked the junk email folders as well.
