11 1/2 hours for the Spring update?!!!

It took 11 hours 38 minutes to do the Spring update on my laptop! This is a 2 year old Dell Inspiron 5559 laptop with an I5 CPU, 8 GB RAM, 100 Mbps download speed and 5400 rpm hard drive. It took 5 hours for the first part of the update to reach 100%, but then it downloaded what it called the 1803 enhancement and took an additional 5 hours 38 minutes to complete. It must've rebooted 6 times during the process. And this laptop was current on updates as of the end of April.

Now I have to ask, isn't it obvious that there's great room for improvement in the way these 6 month updates are implemented? I can do a full system backup in 45 minutes, so it seems totally unreasonable for it to take more than 15 times longer to do this update. I sure hope MS revisits and improves this process for the next major update. :(
