Windows 10 April update 2018 brightness problem

I can't change the display brightness after windows 10 april update 2018 it is on 100% max brightness even if I changed it to 25% or 50% it is still on 100% the change doesn't affect the brightness. I can't even work on my computer it hurts my eyes. Please help.
