Blame Heather for plonking everyone.

Far as I can tell, there were no posts for Monday, Sept 10.

It surely didn't arrive at my place, Joan, wonder why not?

I suspect that it did but because you are in the US it appears as posted
late on 9 Sept whereas here in the UK where we are 5 to 8 hours ahead it
appears as being posted at 3:50 a.m. on 10 September.

Yup, I was just going to post that mine shows the 9th.......no evidence here
of anything on the 10th. Good day to you, Mike! and a hearty thanks to
Joanie!
Heirloom, old and may have to call on one of the
gurus if I don't figure something out soon

Good day to you to H. I know I owe you an e-mail, and long overdue too,
for which I apologise. Don't worry I'll write soon. <g>

Remember that I'm not a guru so you will have to look elsewhere for help
although I have at long last found a reason for the Vista networking
problem I was having. My laptop's wi-fi adapter simply won't connect to
machines on my LAN although it will connect via the router to the internet
without problem. Or rather it connects and sees the top level folders but
not the files or lower level folders. Using a wired connection it works
without a problem, I've even tried a usb and a PCMCIA wi-fi adapter and
neither would allow me to pull files from other PCs on the network until
suddenly on Saturday I tried using a friend's _old_ Belkin usb wi-fi
adapter using two year old, pre Vista 2005 drivers and it worked
PERFECTLY. Did I say something under my breath - perhaps even aloud? You
bet I did. <vbg> Why did I have the Belkin adapter? Because my friend
asked me to test it as it wasn't working on his PC running ...... Vista.
I proved it worked, and it's now back working fine on his PC and I'm
wondering what I should do about my lappy.

Cheers,

Mike

Did see the late entry on the 9th for H, but didn't take the time difference
into account, Mike. As always, you may not be a "guru", but you "know your
stuff".
To sum it up, there were no posts on the 10th period and I can withdraw my
"apology"?.
Thanks for "setting me straight".

Harry.

No "setting straight" required as far as I can see.

I can see heirloom's post timed at 02:50 GMT on 10 Sept replying to
PAT/Paul and then the next post is one from you in the blank screen thread
posted at 01:55 GMT on 11 Sept. So no posts for 23 hours between that
from heirloom and yours.

As always, a conversation with you is a learning experience, Mike and that
is what makes it worthwhile. Hope to have you around for a long time to
come.
Thanks,

Harry.

You're more than welcome Heirloom, I know this ng is not as lively as it
used to be but we keep bumping into each other on a regular basis <g>
