Hi,
Have the DNS server role installed and thought it was working correctly until recently. We are also a subscriber of Cisco's Umbrealla (OpenDNS) service.
We have created a new web site using a hosting provider and they gave us directions on how to create a domain name for the site. What I did was created a 3rd level domain name based on our company name.
Problem is, we can't see it from within our network. I can get to it from home so I'm feeling the A record has been configured correctly.
I talked to Cisco and they say the problem is with our DNS server and that it is out of scope for them to help further. They confirmed that they can see it from their side and that it is categorized as a Newly Seen Domain, which makes sense. But they say it should take up to 48 hours for the categorization to subside, it has been over a week.
So I'm trying to troubleshoot this from my DNS server but not sure what to look for. When I ping the site it says "Ping request could not find the host."
I thought DNS was all automatic but it feels like there is some kind of miscommunication with OpenDNS.
Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?
Thanks in advance,
Linn
