Did you try GOOGLE?

Description:
W32/Pykse.worm.b is a worm that spreads via Skype chat messages. Aliases
W32.Pykspa.A (Symantec) W32.Pykspa.D (Symantec) W32/Ramex.A Win32/Persky
worm (Nod32) Worm.Win32.Skipi.b (F-Secure) Worm.Win32.Skipi.b
(Kaspersky)

It took 3.2 seconds for me to type it into a google search and find it.

Always remember - only download files from Trusted Sites.

The following links will take you to vendors sites for Spy Ware / Ad
ware removal tools and also for Antivirus tools. After you install any
of these applications and update them, run them in SAFE MODE to allow
them to properly clean your system.

First, make sure that your Java is updated to the latest version:
http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp

These sites are for downloading Anti-Malware and Anti-Spyware tools, in
order that I would use them myself:

Dave Lipman's tools:
Download MULTI_AV.EXE from the URL --

Hi Leythos

Thank you for your reply. I copied and pasted the link you provided to David
Lipman's site into my browser (as I've been advised to do) and the website
appeared written in German.

Is there a simple explanation for that?

In addition, there was only that one ink on your *list* of tools, although
you had said "These *sites* are for downloading Anti-Malware and
Anti-Spyware tools, in order that I would use them myself:"

Did you forget to add others? TIA.

The simple explanation is that David Lipman got caught stealing programs
used in his Multi crap software. The result was his hosting site was
shutdown. He then put it on a foreign spam/pop up site that is beyond the
reach of the US DMCA laws. He is a thief and all you people, most of you,
treat him as a god. Leythos is his sock puppet.

There was only one link because it's a pre-canned response that I past
parts of for people that need help. The tool I show a link to also has a
download link, you can use this link if you want:

http://www.pctipp.ch/ds/28400/28470/Multi_AV.exe

I don't like to post direct links to exe files, I consider it a security
risk that should be avoided. The site is good, you can check with the
reputable members of these groups.

PCBUTTS1 filed a fraudulent DMCA complaint against the website it was
hosted it, the company that was hosting the site didn't want to get
involved in the fight and washed their hands of it without allowing the
proper path to be processed. So, a foreign reporter that had been
following this said that they would host the file on their company
server because they believed the complaint was fraudulent. The site is
100% legit, while it is in german, you can read the instructions
included in the download.

Unlike PCBUTTS1 website, this good site does not contain porno, does not
expose kids to porn, and does not contain pirated code/apps and does not
use hits to make PCBUTTS money (he even admitted it in a post in
public).

So,

Hey Leythos,
You could provide additional info when recommending David's Multi AV:

To use this utility, perform the following...
Execute Multi_AV.exe { Note: You must use the default folder C:\AV-CLS }
Choose Unzip
Choose Close

Execute C:\AV-CLS\StartMenu.BAT
{ or Double-click on 'Start Menu' in C:\AV-CLS }

NOTE: You may have to disable your software FireWall or allow WGET.EXE to
go through your FireWall to allow it to download the needed AV vendor
related files.

C:\AV-CLS\StartMenu.BAT -- { or Double-click on 'Start Menu' in C:\AV-CLS}
This will bring up the initial menu of choices and should be executed in
Normal Mode. This way all the components can be downloaded from each AV
vendor's web site.
The choices are Sophos, Trend, McAfee, Kaspersky, Exit this menu and
Reboot the PC.

You can choose to go to each menu item and just download the needed files
or you can download the files and perform a scan in Normal Mode. Once you
have downloaded the files needed for each scanner you want to use, you
should reboot the PC into Safe Mode [F8 key during boot] and re-run the
menu again and choose which scanner you want to run in Safe Mode.
It is suggested to run the scanners in both Safe Mode and Normal Mode.

When the menu is displayed hitting 'H' or 'h' will bring up a more
comprehensive PDF help file.

I could, but people should be able to read the PDF that is included with
the app, not to mention that they should also be looking for help,
readme, support type documents when they get ANY application.

The reason that people need anti-malware tools is that they don't read
or follow directions.

Well yes. But there is a difference between patronizing and educating the
uninitiated. Even the author/creater of Multi_AV doesn't subscribe to your
condescending approach and provides this additional info when reccommending
the usage of his application Heck, you're trying to be more catholic than

There are a couple days per year when I have little tolerance for people
that can't at least look around before asking for something that is
right in front of them, that was one of them.

Yeah, I guess you're right. We all have them Let's move on... :)

I really *do* appreciate your help and advice, Leythos. (Kayman too!) and I
thank you.

However, if it was me to whom you were referring in this post of yours, you
obviously missed the post I made on this group on 13 August entitled 'The
Newbie's Dilemma'. To save you looking it up, this is what I said:-
................................................................................................................

How can anyone visiting here for the first time have *any* idea that they
will receive good ........ or bad .......... advice?

I thought at first that the TechNet Communities must be monitored by
Microsoft staff and therefore be relatively safe. I'm still not sure about
that. Having come here (for ease of use, on someone's advice) it appears
that *no* such protection applies and that it really is a 'free-for-all' and
is, quite likely, a dangerous place to visit.

This may not have always been so - and I do wish to stress that I HAVE
received some excellent and helpful advice, much of which has enabled me to
help myself more and better understand my PC and its' software. I have also
learnt a great deal about 'malware' and how to deal with it.

PCButts1 - some while ago now - explained to me how effective it is to run
HiJackThis and then copy and paste a specific entry directly into Google.
Here's an example - O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Adobe Reader Speed Launcher]
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Reader 8.0\Reader\Reader_sl.exe"

Try it for yourself. I got 66,800 responses which can be reviewed at
leisure. <g>

What I have NOT found is other people who are trying to find out who
*perpetrates* the 'malware' in the first place - no-one seems to care. I do!

So, in spite of comments like that of 'Fitz' elsewhere on this group, and
also having been
'warned-off'' having contact with PCButts1 by Kerry Brown and David H
Lipman, I'm grateful for PCB's help. Perhaps he's one of the good guys after
all, but only experience here will tell. I'm glad I'm not a newbie any more!

BD

.................................................................................................................

I'm inclined to believe that PCButts *is* the rogue ........... but one
cannot be certain, eh? <g>

HTH - any comment you may wish to make will be welcomed! :)

Dave
