I have a Windows 2012 Standard on an HP Easy store NAS. I have seen this happen a couple of times in 5 years but I am sure it has happened before but was not reported to me. This server doesn't do anything but store files and a VM Host uses this NAS as storage. The VM is not very resource intense.
Someone will create or edit a file and save it to the server. Then they will ask another user to open the file. The 2nd user opens the file but the content will not be the content that user 1 sees for about 10 minutes or so. Then after a certain amount of time, both users see the same file. Also, user 3 can see the same content at user 1 sees. User 1 has Windows 8.1, user 2 has windows 7, and user 3 has windows 10. This doesn't happen enough for me to see a pattern or to do very much on the side of troubleshooting.
Any idea why this happens?
Thanks
