Hello everyone
Two identicall (HW/OS) machines, Dell PowerEdge T620/Windows Server 2012. One running SQL/Dynamics NAV, the other one Symantec AV server manager. Numerous Events ID 100, Application Error (detals in the bottom), Server Manager reports 3 - 5 stopped services. Stopped services auto-restart, Event 100 repeats, same (or some other of listed services) stop and so on. After a while service auto-restarts stop. Manual service restart attempt gives the same result.
Oddly enough, this does not seem to affect server performance/reliability. I've noticed it in the Windows logs by accident, haven't previously noticed any performance impact, nothing was signalled by Action Center. Going through the log I've found out that this has been happening for a few months, it started more or less at the same time on both machines. First thought, AV (Symantec Endpoint Protection clients), wiped them out, but error persisted. As there were no (major) configuration changes since machines were put in operation, especially not at the same time, obvious culprit was Windows Update.
Searching the Net I've found reports of the identical issue. From one guy I even got his MS support case number, 117091816356082 and tip that MS informed him resolution will be released through WU very soon. But, few months passed and nothing happened.
Anyway, error in question is:
