help applying a Group policy to a terminal server

I have a domain controller running server 2012r2 with active directory users & computers configured. My users can login to their active directory accounts. I have another machine running server 2012r2 configured as a terminal server. The terminal server is configured as a member server to the domain controller. When a user logs into their active directory account, the users can log in to their terminal server account from the client machine. I have a drive map GPO configured on the domain controller that allows the user to access folders from a shared folder. The gpo is working. I can see the gpo is replicated on the terminal server to the same OU, but it is not being applied when users connect to the terminal server. How can I make the map drive gpo apply the terminal server? Can someone help me get this configuration started? If you have any questions, please let me know and I will provide any additional information you may need.

I need to add something. I work for a small non-profit organisation in NYC. I am not a network administrator. I am the janitor. The real network administrator was in a car accident and will not be returning to work. They have asked me to take over for him. I am totally new to this so I may not understand everything you explain to me.

Thank you for the help
