Well, this is slightly my fault as I think I may have downloaded a virus in some form, but I'm not sure. Virus scans yield nothing.

First off. What keeps happening is that every now and then a new process of svchost.exe will appear in task manager. This process will take 50% of my CPU. There are no services displayed under this instance of svchost, and I have used Process Explorer to look through it's contents. It states no command line, and the path simply displays Access is Denied, even though this is an administrator account on this computer.

Ending this process gets rid of the CPU usage but keeps the instance of svchost in my task manager. I have also used the command line TASKLIST /svc /FI "IMAGENAME eq svchost.exe" to see if there were any services and it displayed N/A. I'm at the end of my ropes in trying to fix this.

For further information, my current anti-virus system is BitDefender and I have Windows Defender currently disabled.
