I have set up microsoft account child accounts for my children.
They share the same laptop to use the accounts.
My daughter has forgotten her password.
I tried to reset the password but the reset system wants to send to the incorrect phone number.
When verifying my own account it sends to the correct number.
There is no feature on the manage your family online website to change a child's password.
I found a method via Control panel but that has not worked.
I have now wasted an hour trying to do something that I think is fundamental to managing a child's account: changing their password.
I have 5 questions:
1. Why is this so hard to do?
2. Why was a password reset feature not included from the start when designing the "managing your family use accounts" section?
3. Do I have to create a new account every time my children forget their passwords?
4. Others have asked the same question since 2003 and none of the suggested solutions work. Why has this not been fixed?
5. Do you have a solution that works please?
