Lenovo Y510P still hanging up on WIN 10-1803

I recently reported a problem here in regard to my Lenovo Y510P hanging up with the error:

c:\windows\system32\config\system profile\Desktop...…...is unavailable

After doing some hard power offs and restarts, I believe one of the Microsoft servers intercepted a distress signal from my Lenovo laptop because I got a page saying something to the effect that...here are more files for you....this may take a while...yada, yada,....

The patch improved the installation to the point where WIN 10-1803 almost installed. I get the background image and all my old icons on the desktop plus a partial taskbar on the bottom, where the file explorer icon is functional and I can access all of my files, but WIN 10 itself is non functional. The installation halts with the following error box,

sihost - system warning

! unknown hard error

If I leave the error box on (don't click on OK) I can search my files and run some apps like iTunes. But if I click on OK in the error box, the screen goes blank. I'm afraid to turn the laptop off, so I just log off thru, ctrl, alt, delete then select log off. When I come back I actually get the log on screen so I type in my password and start the activity to bring WIN 10 up but I keep ending up with the error message above.

So now what do I do?? If I can pull all of my data off the laptop, I'll play the three hard restarts game and try to connect to the Microsoft servers, But I won't dare doing that until I can recover all my data on usb memory sticks ( have about 100+ Gb of music, pictures, data, videos, etc, on the laptop).
