I have recently purchased an Acer Laptop with Windows 10 already installed. I had Windows support team assist with updates because I had a problem with that when I booted the computer up for the first time, out of the box. I plugged in my analog speakers to the 1/8 jack on the Acer and they worked fine. (Use them for watching TV.) I had sound. BUT when I ran a cable to my mixing board that outputs to my Mackie powered speakers, I get no sound. The input jack on the mixer can be either 1/4 or RCA. The test page on my Acer indicates that sound is being produced but it does not output to my Mackie speakers. I am a DJ/Entertainer/Musician and have used this configuration with previous version of Windows (Win 98, XP and 7). My Gateway laptop running Windows 8.1 is working perfectly with this sound system setup. This is not a cable/ equipment problem. That has been ruled out. What is wrong with Windows 10? Can it be reliably fixed or do I have to get uninstall Windows 10 and install Windows 8.1 on my Acer as well?
