Low disk space on local disk F

I am receiving a constant pop up notification that I have "low disk space on local disk F" When I click on it or any other setting - it shows F almost full but says there are no files on it - nothing appears. I can do disk clean up but there is nothing there to clean. What is this and what do I need or not need to do? I have Windows 10 and it recently updated.
