Cannot establish secure connection to OneDrive via share link

I'm trying to share a view-only link to a folder on my OneDrive; no recipient can seem to open the folder

Error seems to be in establishing a secure connection


I have been given the same link using right click...share a OneDrive link from the file menu

and from the web interface to OneDrive


Chrome gives this error:

This site can’t provide a secure connection
1drv.ms sent an invalid response.

• Try running Windows Network Diagnostics.

ERR_SSL_PROTOCOL_ERROR


Edge gives this error:

Can’t connect securely to this page
This might be because the site uses outdated or unsafe TLS security settings. If this keeps happening, try contacting the website’s owner.


Explorer gives this:

Internet Explorer cannot display the web page
HP Network Check

An issue prevented Internet Explorer from displaying the web page. Click the button to the left to launch HP Network Check to automatically diagnose and repair the issue.


Safari on iPhone gives this



A Mac user tells me he can't open it either; I don't know the error


FWIW I'm using OneDrive via Office365 Home

Windows 10 Home

Version 1803

OS Build 17134.48

(there was a substantial Windows update within the past week IIRC)

Wireless broadband connection
