Warning/Notification before Shutting Down

I had two browsers open with lots of tabs in each and wanted to put my Surface laptop in sleep mode but I accidentally clicked shut down. I lost everything I had up so I'm wondering is there a notification that pops or a warning that I can activate anytime before shutting down? I cannot find it anywhere.
