I knew I should have bought the MacBook... I know that won't go down well here but I have had my Dell XPS13 for only a few months and now the thing won't recognize the headphones at all when plugged in. I have searched for hours trying to find a solution. I have gone to Updates and Security and tried to roll back to the previous version but the option is not there. I have tried System Restore but it won't let me restore back to the time before the update. I have messed around with the audio settings and done the audio trouble shoot but to no avail. I tried ringing Dell Premium "Support" but they said it is a software problem with Windows and there is nothing they can do. So basically I have a very expensive laptop where I cannot use the headphones or my external speakers that plug into the headphone jack.
Is there anything I can do about this? I am extremely angry about this as the update just happened. I was given no option as to whether I could install it or not. I always view these updates with suspicion as they normally involve trouble.
so how can I get my headphones be recognized and to work again?
