Hi,
I am using licensed Windows 10 with office 2007. I have McAfee (licensed) and Windows Defender running. I was working on these files for last two weeks. One fine day I restarted my system ( instead of sleep /wakeup), when I found that one entire folder containing my important files was gone. It was not even in the Recycle bin. I scanned my system and some how recovered my files from other resources, but then today I was missing another important file. This time it was in the recycle bin. After recovering the file from there, it doesnt open, says that either file is damaged or I dont have permission. This all started happening in last 10 days . I have installed some microsoft updates in this time and no other software is installed, lately. The only thing that somewhat got fuzzy is that I ran out of battery once or twice but my system was never improperly shutdown until I turned it off explicitly. I am wondering what went wrong.
Please note that I am an expert computer user and quite familiar with backup - recovery, antivirus, system crash , etc.
