Thumbnails for pictures (drawn) have gone black in the folder

The thumbnail preview for drawings that I have recently saved show up just fine with their white background. However, if my surface pro 3 goes to sleep, the thumbnails turn black. I tried doing a disk clean up and deleted the thumbnails in there, and that helped with the majority of them, but still two are blacked out.
