I have what appears to be a unique problem - my Wifi and Mobile Hotspot settings seem to be messed up, and NEITHER works.
It started this weekend when I booted up the laptop at my beach condo, which had not been turn on for several months. It immediately started downloading a Windows Update.
Once the update had been installed and the computer stabilized, I discovered that the computer would not connect to my Wifi network. Other devices were connected and working properly, so I knew it was a problem in the laptop.
After investigating the problem, I discovered that in the popup Networking section at lower right, BOTH the Wifi and Mobile Hotspot icons were lit, indicating they were turned on. But in Settings, both showed as off. Trying to turn either one off would not work; in fact, when I tried to turn them off or on, they would immediately revert to the previous setting, i.e. both lit but neither one of them working.
I have spent several hours online looking for a solution to this problem, to no avail. Can anyone help?
