deleting a hard disk partition

So the last update created another hard disk partition, local disk D. I'm not too bothered about losing 400mb of space its more just really annoying, I have tried using the windows disk manager but wont let me actually remove it. I have tried googling it but all you get is paid for software and its not worth spending money on.
