My Freecom Hard Drive XS 2 TB USB hard drive was working fine with Windows 7 and then Windows 10 as well, until yesterday, when the latest Windows update killed it. It's a relatively old external usb HDD, with power adapter, and under the cover I found a Samsung hd204ui disk...
In explorer I can see it, but says: the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable. The Device Manager and Disk Manager can see it, but anyway, a can not do anything with it. Disk Manager says, it's "RAW" disk. If it is important, we were watching movie from it, when the update suddenly started.
I tried to run chkdsk, command f/ do the thing, but at the end notthing happens, when I type r/ command, it stops at certain stage, and doesn't do anything. Then I tried to update driver, then searching for an older drivers (actually I didn't find older drivres to download), I tried to plug it into different PCs (all of those have latest version od Wndows 10) but nothing helps.
The point is that, all pictures of my wife are on it, she has no backup (of course), so I really would like to recover it insted of formatting.
Could you help me guys?
