Play media files in preview pane of Explorer without setting WMP as default?

I would like to preview media files (Just audio files, for me personally. WAV, MP3, etc) by clicking them in explorer, but when I double click them I want them to open in an application that is not Windows Media Player. Is this possible to achieve?
