Mail and calender apps are not importing gmail

I can add gmail account in mail app but its not importing any mails or not syncing new mails. i reinstalled it. but it didnt help. i removed accounts and added accounts again. that didnt help too. other accounts are working fine accept gmail accounts. Can anyone help please to fix this problem or it doesnt work with gmail? sorry for my bad english..
