Photos

I have several family photos to hand over to children. Is there anyway to put a caption on the photo to identify who the people are in the photo? I know I can "rename" a photo in "file manager" but is there a way that the photo say in the slide show would actually show the caption? If not, would someone suggest a way to handle these photos with some other program.
