On Saturday I was notified of a Windows update and I shutdown and installed, on turning the computer on on Sunday the installation was finalising and then restarted and got stuck on the "lenovo" screen for over 10 mins. I forced shut down and tried everything to restart the computer. I can't start in safe mode as the computer doesn't even get that far. I can't use the one-key recovery to reset to factory settings... as I guess the computer gets stuck before this point and doesn't recognise anything to do with windows.
Is there anything else I can do? What recourse do I have with Microsoft for a legitimate update from them essentially disabling and breaking my desktop pc? I should not have to pay for a new computer for something they forced on me.
