Domain Joined Server Not Showing Domain

I am having a few domain joined servers at the login screen "Sign into: servername" where as other show "Sign into: Domain".

Why would a server change from showing domain to the servername?

Does this mean it has lost communication with the domain?

I can still login with a domain user but I have to do domain\username or username@domain.

Any help would be helpful.
