MSASCui.exe error on shutdown , memory cannot be read.

I get this error about every 3rd shutdown/restart , on a google search I
find this has something to do with Windows Defender.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

there are no other problems with memory or any other program.

That file is part of Windows Defender. Are you running any other Spyware
utility? Thinking of interference between the two. If not some other program
maybe. There have been several recent updates, do you have Windows
Update running?

Yes , win update runs and Defender updates and seems to run scans fine , I
get no errors when it is running or even after on on shutdown/restart
sometimes.

I did install the new Adaware FREE version a couple of weeks ago , it does
not use the Real Time protection though , I have to run it manually. I will
check the Adaware forums and see if their may be a conflict though.

Check Processes in Defender to see what is running... maybe a
part of Adware is installed or something else is causing the issue.

I have removed adaware and it still gives me this error , I'm afraid
something is wrong with my windows defender.

Is there any way to repair it i wonder?

Is that the exact error message? Boot up, start no additional progams and
use
DEFENDER and TASK MANAGER to see what is running. There has to be
some interference somewhere. It could be hardware/memory however I would
think it would happen more frequently if so. Have you updated your drivers
and
checked with system maker/motherboard maker for any fixes for your system?

Yes I have all the latest updates from MS and for every piece of hardware in
my system , the BIOS from ASUS for my mobo has not been updated for over a
year and probably never will be again.

I will see if something else is not running that is causing the problem , I
was running my ram at advanced timings of 2.5 , 3 , 3 , 6 and had NO problems
with any of my very intense 3D games running for hours on end , but the
Defender error seems to be a "memory cannot be read" error and only on exit ,
so I set my timings back to SPD and will see if that helps.

I get no other memory errors though , not using speedboost , custom page
file has been this way for many months without problems.

I'm stummped.

if you are comfortable with hardware try reseating your memory,,,,
