How to (re)turn unallocated space into d drive?

My father, while tinkering with my computer in an effort to solve the problem I previously posted about on this forum, decided it would be a great idea to delete my d drive. So, I have about 1000 gigabytes of unallocated space on my computer that I cannot utlize...and I don't know how to make it back into the d drive it once was. Can someone please provide directions for doing this using the disk management tool? Many thanks
