" In tablet mode with a browser open, I tap on my YouTube bookmark and the webpage loads. This is a site that can easily be navigated by touch, yet for some reason the touch keyboard now appears, blocking half the screen. I don't want to type anything so I have to close the keyboard.

I tap on a channel and again the keyboard appears but I have no need for it and must close it again.

I use my finger to scroll down the page to look at videos on the channel and EVERY time I scroll, the keyboard appears and I must close it. This is very annoying and I would consider it broken if there is no way to change it. "
- how to stop on screen keyboard from popping up

I found a thread here on answers with this text in it. That thread was started in 2016 so I'd prefer to start a new one.

This is a big problem! Does MS know about this? Have they used android and apple tablets before? Can we expect better on screen keyboard prompts. I realize it's more difficult to put this functionality into a OS that still supports software that is literally decades old as opposed to OS specifically designed with touch interfaces in mind - but surely we can do better than this?

This makes websites, slack, and discord basically unusable =[

Using:
Windows 10
surface pro 4
tablet mode

Issue:
Popup keyboard will not stop opening.

Question:
What is being done about this?
