I have a Surface pro 2017 and windows 10. Since I have had the laptop I have been unable to log in with the pin. I got the message: "the option is no longer available due to changes to the security system".
I found a thread on here that said I needed to delete my NGC folder, which I did but now when I attempt to add a new pin, nothing literally happens when I press "add pin".
Here are the steps I followed from another thread:
Go to C:\Windows\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\NGC.
In NGC folder delete all the files. To do so you must be logged as Administrator.
delete the temp folder within the NGC folder
Now go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in Options.
Click Add a PIN and add a new PIN code for your account. (NOTHING HAPPENS HERE)
