Hello,
I am sorry for the lengthy post…
I am trying to delete the picture associated with my MS account. I have researched this and found the location of the picture, but cannot delete it because I lack administrator privileges. So, I researched getting administrator rights.
I’ve run into one brick wall after another.
%appdata%\microsoft\windows\account pictures
2. Found more instructions that the location of the picture was here via File Explorer (keep in mind this is two locations, so I'm a little confused)
C:\users\public\public account pictures
The item looks like a registry key and wouldn’t allow me to delete without admin rights, but it did allow me to append “old” at the end to change it. I’m hoping that works.
3. While looking up admin privileges I found where in the administrator command line prompt you can type net user administrator /active:yes to turn it on, but it did not allow me to delete the item I found in step #2. So that is confusing. I did reverse the command to “no” so I don’t inadvertently mess something up.
So my question(s) are how can I stop this picture from appearing on my login screen and why didn’t the administrator command not work?
Thank you
jhl

- I found instructions on typing this to find the picture locationiInto the command line of File Explorer. I did, find the picture, deleted it , but upon reboot the picture was still there.
