service registration is missing or corrupt

Security updates (windows 10) are stuck on 'pending download' and will not download. I've run the troubleshooting and it says 'service registration is missing or corrupt' I've put on automatic the windows updates, the BITS and CS on services.msc but nothing has changed. Can anyone help please?
