I have an old dysfunctional system that had windows 10 pro amd here's how it was upgraded:
Win 7 home basic -> Win 8 Pro (license key)
Win 8 Pro -> Win 10 Pro (Free Upgrade)
Now I have a new system which runs windows 10 home (OEM) by default and has a digital license.
I have two questions:
1. I am able to use the old win 8 pro upgrade key on the new one. Would that automatically deactivate windows on the old system? Or, would I have to run the other machine somehow and perform manual deactivation? Also, would this transfer of product key be a legal move? Would I face any activation issues? (The old computer is not working anymore)
2. In case I encounter any activation issues down the line, would I be able to revert to the OEM license?
Edit 1: The old system is 32 bit and the new one is 64 bit. Is it something I need to be worried about?
Edit 2: I found this link but not sure how applicable this is:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-in/help/20530/windows-10-reactivating-after-hardware-change
