Access denied to Start Menu. How to access? Update!

I was unable to respond to the original post, but wanted to let others who may be experiencing this issue in WIndows 10. I have had shortcuts to "My Pictures", "My Documents", "My etc..." for some time. Everytime I attempted to use them I got "Access Denied", yet I could go straight to the folders with no problem. After reading the original post, I started looking at the permissions on these shortcuts. I noticed that besides the expects permission for myself and for Admins, there was also one for "Everyone" with "Special Permissions" only. This did not look right for "My" stuff, so I simply removed the "Everyone" and now they work without any "Access Denied". The more I think about it, these may have been carried over when I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7. Now I wonder if having upgraded, rather than a clean install, might be a commonality of those who have had this issue.
