Why doesn't the Lifecam HD-3000 work when plugged into the surface dock

Dear MS Team,


I've purchased 2 LifeCam HD 3000s and can't get either one of them to work with the Surface Pro docking system. It will work with the Surface onboard usb port, but not with the dock. Seriously? That defeats the purpose of having it completely.


Please advise?
