It seems as though the trusted GPO setting of "Allow non-administrators to receive update notifications" is no longer honered in Serve 2016, at least if you still have a Windows 2012 R2 domain as I do. As found on other sites, this is a problem when running RDS on Server 2016. Folks are complaining about how to restrict ordinary users from getting prompted to install updates. So, the following article provided hope for this issue. However, the solution it provides, which is to enable the GPO setting "Remove access to use all Windows update features" does work but blocks it for admin users as well. I can see the updates that are needed but the download button is now greyed out. How do I enable admins to install updates?
