microsft internet connection

I have a microsoft account and candy crush as a bulit in app and microsft card games on this laptop everytime i try to go to play either of these says im not connected to the internet which i am why is this happening and whats the answer? i also get check internet connection when trying to to install my printer any help would be much appreciated thank you
