Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709 - Error 0xc190010a

My HP ZBook running Windows 10 version 1703 has been trying and failing to update to 1709 for several months, blue screening and reverting. The message finally changed from a generic "requires a restart to finish installing" message to "Feature update to Windows 10, version 1709 - Error 0xc190010a" so at least I have something to ask now... My searches haven't found a reputable and helpful answer on this specific error so far.
